Collect a blood sample with a 1cc syringe, flushed with Heparin
0.2 cc is an acceptable amount of blood to collect for this procedure
With a sharpie, label the pet's name on the test
Place the test on the appropriate number area within the clear trays next to the sink
4 (B-L-U-E) drops of conjugate and 3 (R-E-D) drops of blood - SNAP the test down when the blood reaches the small dot under the control panel, or place the test inside the SNAP reader and it will snap itself and record the results in Avimark.
Once test is set up, run the timer for 8 minutes if running manually
Immediately add the result to the patient's record under the heartworm test line item with a time stamp at the end of 8 minutes if running manually.
*Conjugate should be used until the box of tests have run out - then all conjugate in that box should be thrown out as well
